All Empire Chess products comply with:

  • CE (European Conformity) standards
  • EN71 Toy Safety Regulations (Parts 1, 2 & 3: mechanical safety, flammability, chemical safety)

Age Recommendation

Not suitable for children under 6 years.

Contains small parts which may present a choking hazard. Recommended for ages 9+.

Small Parts Warning

This product contains small detachable parts including metal pieces, foam inserts, and packaging components.

  • Do not allow infants or small children to handle the pieces.
  • Keep all packaging materials out of reach of young children.

Glass Board Safety

The chessboard is crafted from tempered glass (black, white & mirror, or silver & mirror). While stronger than regular glass, it is not unbreakable.

  • Always place the board on a flat, stable surface.
  • Avoid dropping heavy pieces or striking the board.
  • Do not expose the board to bending pressure, sharp impacts or edges.
  • Keep the board away from edges where it may fall.

Metal Chess Pieces Safety

Chess pieces are cast from high-quality metal alloys and are heavier than plastic alternatives.

  • Pieces may be heavy — handle with care.
  • Do not throw, strike, or allow children to put pieces in their mouth.
  • Avoid dropping pieces — risk of injury or damage to flooring/furniture.

Allergens & Material Notice

Metal alloys and plating may include nickel, zinc, copper, brass, or protective coatings. Users with known metal sensitivities should avoid direct prolonged contact.

General Handling & Storage Recommendations

  • Do not stand or lean on the chessboard.
  • Do not stack heavy objects on the board or box.
  • Store the set in a dry, cool environment — avoid moisture and extreme heat.
  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to prevent fading or damage.
